March Showers
Hello to all. This is Connie.
I wish you could see what I see out our west window right now. In fact, I just went out to take a look at it. It has been drizzling or raining for four days now. Today we got 1.3" of rain. But today it was warm, and the rain seemed pleasant, almost like one of those splish, splash poems we used to recite when we were a child. This afternoon, I took a picture of a beautiful little red flower bud peeking up on one of my sisters flowers. And this evening, the sky has taken on the most beautiful golden, yellow hue. It makes the whole world seem as if it were glowing. Just a pleasant reminder of the beautiful things God has in store for us in heaven some day.
Have had lots of fun trying out different recipes. One was a wheat-free chocolate cake. It came out quite good, but I think I'll cut down on the amount of cocoa next time.
On March 19 the Lord gave me a special blessing. For the first time in quite a few weeks, I was able to practice the piano for about 10 or 15 minutes. It felt so good to be able to play a little again. Just have to avoid using my little finger, at least for the most parts.
March 20, the first day of spring, was a bright, sunny day. It was exciting to see the first day of spring really look like spring! So far we have seen ants and spiders and butterflies and carpenter bees and a bumble bee and even some honey bees. The Bradford pears were so beautiful this year and stayed in bloom for a long time. When I stood outside hanging clothes, I could hear the bees buzzing in the trees above me. There were all sorts of bees in those trees - little ones, medium sized ones, and big ones. Thank God for all that beauty.
The Scriptures describe this beautiful time of year in Song of Solomon 2:11-13, "Lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell."
I hope you are having a good spring. I hope Jesus is your Saviour too so that you can be having a joyful time resting in His love.
