The chicken needed to be cooked and the meat taken off the bones and separated into bags to put in the freezer. That little bird had LOTS of meat on it. I was able to get four nice size pieces of chicken breast. These were saved in the freezer to make Parmesan chicken or something like that later. Also saved the carcass in the freezer for making soup. The legs were put in the fridge for Christy. She likes the dark meat. Next task was to make chicken pot pie -- one for me and one for Christy. They came out pretty good. There was some broth left over from cooking the chicken, so I used that to flavor the pie fillings.
Cooking the corn on the cob was fun. According to what I read a few places online, it can just be roasted in the oven -- husks and all. So I pulled off the yucky looking part of the silk and then put the corn on the top rack of the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They smelled so good while they were cooking! I hope Christy likes them. When she is ready to eat them, we will probably toss them back in the oven to reheat. They had to be cooked up though because we didn't want them to spoil.
It was such a nice day yesterday that I decided to hang my hang up clothes out on the line (about 8:00 p.m.) About 5:00 this morning it rained. Oooops! Guess they got a second rinse. And, I left the clothespins out there too. Oooops!
"8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:8,9)
