Mark 8:36,37 says, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
Tonight our pastor brought out an interesting thought. He was talking about one of the excuses people use for why they cannot come to church. That is, "I don't go to church because there are so many hypocrites there." Our pastor remarked, "If you are unwilling to spend an hour at church with hypocrites, how do you think you will endure an eternity with them in hell?"
What is a man willing to give in exchange for his soul? A few hours trying to escape a pricking conscience? Is that worth an eternity of darkness and hopelessness? Are you making an empty trade for your soul?
Think about it? With whom will you spend eternity? With hypocrites or with Jesus?
