Psalm 107:8,9 says, "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness."
God has shown us several blessings this week. This month has had a number of trials, and it has been easy to get frustrated. But God remembers that we are dust, and He shows us His kindness as well.
This week our first flowers of the year have sprung up. They are so lovely.
The Lord has been giving wonderful encouragement from the study of Glatians, Ephesians, and Philippians as I go through them and consider all the wonderful things the Lord has done for us and what blessings Christians have because they belong to Christ.
The appointment with the chiropractor went well yesterday. We had made an appointment for me to get established with a doctor in Kings Mountain. But the Lord worked the situation out so that we ended up cancelling that appointment. Yesterday our chiropractor recommended a doctor in Charlotte that he sees. He said this doctor is good. Although he is an MD and will prescribe medicines, he does not mind people taking supplements and vitamins and will help people find a natural way to treat things if that is what they desire. Our chiropractor, Dr. Schulman, gave us a pamphlet about this doctor, and we took a look at the website. Dr. Schulman recommended Christy go there to keep an eye on her cholesterol and her overall health. Perhaps, if the Lord directs in that way, we can get established with this doctor next month. Thank the Lord for His direction.
If anyone lives close enough to the Charlotte area and wants a good chiropractor, Dr. Schulman is very good. Check him out. Maybe he will be able to help you.
The Lord also provided a special gift for us yesterday. Thank the Lord. He knows our needs, and He will provide, even when we worry. :-)
Another blessing that we had this week is that we heard that our cousin's wife, Linda, was doing well. She is getting stronger each day after her colon cancer surgery. You can visit her site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lindayoung1/journal . You will have to sign in to visit there. If you think about her, please be in prayer for her. Here is a copy of her latest update:
I am doing well! and kids are healthy! Again, everyday I feel better and stronger. John and I (and Parker) head to Duke Monday PM. We will start the day off early Tues with blood work, body CT scans, general surgeon appt, geneticist appt, liver surgeon appt, oncologist appt, and than round off a "great day" (I am sure :)) with chemo. I am glad we are moving forward and will begin the IV chemo Tues. Not too sure what comes after that. Sounds like just a couple rounds of chemo and then the liver resection. Of course, we will find out more Tues. Thanks to all of you for the support and prayers.
Thank the Lord with us for His blessings and mercies this week. Have a great weekend everyone! We'll update again when we can!
