Between the meetings, we had dinner "on the grounds." There was lots of food, and God blessed the fellowship.
But we realize that it is getting more and more difficult to live quiet and peaceable lives as Christians, even here in America. In the evening, the youth pastor preached to the church. His message was "Comparison of Two New Testament Churches." His message was from I Corinthians 13:13, I Thessalonians 1:3, and Revelation 2:1-5.
Pastor O pointed out that many churches function on no faith. We are content to do what we see with our eyes. Often we labor out of duty and not out of love. We do things because other Christians expect us to do them, but really they are just something we do because we have to. We do not do them because we love the Savior. He challenged us to live by faith, hope, love. If we have left our first love, God may remove our candlestick. We may become an ineffective church, or we may even cease to exist as a church.
It was a powerful message that ended with, "What could we do by faith? by hope? by love? What would you be willing to do?" Please pray that we will heed this challenge and that our church will go forward in the love of God and the power of the Holy Ghost.
