The Change Journey verse for today is Ephesians 4:29a, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth….”
Corrupt – bad, worthless (literally or morally) – Strong’s Concordance
Proceed – to depart, to discharge, to go forth, to issue – Strong’s Concordance
No pace for corrupt communication:
God’s word teaches that there is no place for corrupt speech in a Christian’s life. I should not be speaking bad or worthless words.
Words with no purpose
Some words I speak may not be wrong in themselves, but they may be worthless. Words that have no purpose do not mean anything to anyone, and they do not help anyone either.
Words that are morally wrong
Some words I speak could cause people to think bad of something or someone that is good. They could give a wrong impression of God and His word.
Other words I speak may make something bad look good or funny. They could give someone a wrong impression of evil.
Lord, please help me be careful with my tongue because I know You take all my speech seriously.
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” (Matthew 12:36)
Yesterday was spring, and today is winter. :-) It was in the 70s yesterday and is supposed to be in the 40s today. However, we very much enjoyed several days of warm, pleasant sunny weather.
We have also enjoyed the daffodils. They didn't go away with the warm weather. And they look like happy little suns brightening up the yard. Here are a few pictures.
