The frogs are once more singing on humid nights. The doves are back. It is so sweet to see Mr. and Mrs. Dove sitting on the porch railing kissing and whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. When they are not sitting close together, they call to each other with gentle coos. A few trees and flowers are in bloom. The other day there were even a couple of chickadees out in the yard. We usually only see them in migration, so that was exciting. They are tiny, cute, curious, and fun to watch. The mockingbirds are entertaining. They can be heard singing their songs almost all day long and into the evening.
The day before yesterday the Carpenter Bees made their appearance. The Carpenter Bees and I are not exactly friends. They dive at my head, and I duck. However, they are good pollinators, so I try to put up with them. Christy saw a moth the other day, and the flies are coming in. Now the ants have invaded. Yes, surely spring must be here.
"11For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; 12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land." (Song of Solomon 2:11,12)
