The toy run is one of our favorite events of the year. Do you know what several hundred motorbikes sound like? This year there were supposed to be 1,000 participants, but a lot of them used cars instead of motorbikes. Not sure why except that it was misty and damp.
Every year bikers collect toys and take them to a children's home nearby. Our trailer park is right on their route, so they drive by on the road in front of our trailer park. It is a big affair with police cars, fire trucks, and a line of motorbikes and cars. Sometimes the bikes are all decorated. There are usually some really unique cars as well. I was imagining how the kids at the home must feel when these people come. How excited they must have been when they heard the sirens and the loud rumbling of the bikes! That part is probably almost exciting as getting the toys. Here are a few pictures from that day.
In light of the sad event that took place in Newton, CT this week, I'm so glad that somebody loves the children. Jesus loves them too.
"Jesus called them unto him, and said, "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." (Luke 18:16)
