Christy had the idea of propping the front screen door open so that we would not have to keep going outside to shovel the snow away from the back door. Thank the Lord for putting this idea in her mind. If the snow comes up over the front door, we cannot get out. The snow melting on the roof drips onto the snow in front of the screen door, and this melted snow turns to ice. Thus the front screen door gets frozen shut. Usually, we just keep shoveling the snow away from the back door. However, since the precipitation was falling through the night, and neither of us were really keen on getting up during the night to shovel it off the back porch, propping the screen door open sounded like a good idea. The main door opens in. We just had to get up and open it every once in a while so that it would not freeze shut.
But we really did enjoy the snow. I loved the way it sparkles in the sunlight.
Below are a few pictures of the snow. They are in a “photo gallery.” Click on a thumbnail to see it larger.
