Answers to Prayer and Some More Prayer Requests
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Dad and Mom. The biopsy report for the skin condition on Dad's legs came back in 3 weeks instead of the expected 5 weeks. There was no cancer. It is only a severe case of psoriasis. Thank the Lord. We rejoice with them in this. Please continue to pray that they might be able to find the right remedy for relief. And please join with us in thankfulness to the Lord for His mercy.
Please continue to pray about the water situation in Owena. There has been enough rain to bring the water level above the pipeline at the village's source of water. However, there is little or no water flowing through the pipes. A number of people have tried to find the source of the problem, but no one has been able to discover what is preventing the water from flowing through the pipes. Please pray that they will be able to get this fixed. The Lord continues to send just enough rain to keep the 55 gallon drum and other water containers filled. Mom is very excited as she has been able to take a bath again. It was just sponge baths for a while as there was little water, and the bathtub had to be used to store up water in case of emergency. So Mom is grateful for the blessing of a real bath again.
Dad and Mom are also facing some other challenges. The part of their generator that holds the deisel fuel has a bad leak in it. This means that they can only run the generator once a week. That means only one day a week for laundry. :-) This also means that they are unable to use their refrigerator at the moment. Lord willing they will be able to get this fixed on their next trip to town, but that is still about 3 and 1/2 weeks away. They are praying that the fuel will last until then.
Also, Dad and Mom have run out of LP gas. The twin otter does not come their way much except during coffee season, so they can only get the small tanks of LP brought in on the smaller airplane. However, the smaller plane is not useable right now. Someone broke into the MAF hangar and smashed the windows on the small plane, so they have only the use of the twin otter at the moment. Guess Dad and Mom will be cooking in and on top of the woodstove for a while. That works OK but is slower. So please pray for grace and encouragement for Dad and Mom.
And please pray for the work in the church there. Progress is being made, but there are still many issues to be dealt with. They have started over at the beginning and are attempting to lay a firm foundation upon which to build the Lord's church. They said it is very slow right now. But even slow is good as long as there is growth. Thank the Lord for His mercy and patience and for His help for Dad and Mom and the people there.
God bless you all and thank you for praying,
The Young girls.
