Hello, this is Christy again. It has been a couple of weeks since we wrote last. Last Saturday (the 14th), we didn't have to go shopping because I had done it on Thursday. We spent the day at home doing different projects. I did a jigsaw puzzle. It was the Big Ben. On Friday the 13th, we had our song leader and his wife over for supper. We enjoyed our time with them. They asked lots of questions about New Guinea and my dad and mom's ministry there. Then the next day we stopped at a friend's house after church to see their new baby. She seemed like a small baby. Last week I worked late several days. My daffodils are coming up now, so we get to see them when we go outside.
Hey Y'all! Thanks for stopping by. This is Connie.
Life has been pretty much "normal" the last couple of weeks. A new store opened a here in Shelby. Christy and I decided to go to the grand opening. Well it was a unique experience! The checkout lines went all the way down the aisle and around the corner. There were no buggies left, but I saw a man carrying around a bucket with a handle. His merchandise was in the bucket. I followed suit and soon saw other people doing it too. I think we got about 20 things there, all for $1.00 each.
Had a chance to try out the new silicone muffin cups Christy bought. They work great. Made pizza cups in them. The pizza dough turned out soft and chewy, and the sauce did not all disappear into the dough.
The Lord blessed with a good visit to the dentist. He didn't find any cavities. Praise the Lord! He and the other workers were very grateful for the fudge I brought in. Yes, it is bad for the teeth. But it surely does taste good! The poor guy wanted to give me something to show his thanks. But he couldn't find anything, so he gave me a sticker. I was fashionable. =-)
The little girl in the waiting room was excited to see my sticker. She told me all about the things she was doing in school and the special box she was making. It was fun to get to talk to her.
Then on Sunday, we observed the Lord's Supper, remembering the death of Christ and rejoicing in the salvation He provided for us through His death on Calvary.
Have been having fun experimenting with some cooking. The Lord has been helping me figure out some new things to make. Have learned to make soy yoghurt. The soy yoghurt can be combined with tahini (sesame seed butter), lemon or lime juice, and some other ingredients to make either dip, sour cream, or cream cheese for use in cakes, etc. Want to try to make soy ice cream too.
Psalm 107:8 says, "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"
