For the past 2 days, I have been studying Mark 5 in my morning devotions. What have I learned from this chapter? If you have a trouble, go to Jesus. He has power over sickness, death, sin, evil spirits, and hell. Thank You, Jesus.
On Wednesday Christy fixed a delicious lunch - tuna pie for herself and vegetable pie for me. Then there were lots of dishes to do and trip to a health food store to pick up sesame seeds. Then took of for our chiropractor for Christy's appointment. He was quite pleased with her progress. Her ant bites are healing up as well.
Got a call Tuesday from my drs. office. They said the doctor wants to refer me to a rheumatologist and that the office would make me an appointment and call back. Haven't heard anything else though.
Found out the price of pumpkin seeds has gone up to about $5.00 a pound or more. Is there a shortage of pumpkins or something? Pumpkin seeds make great non-dairy milk. Will have to buy a small acorn squash. Will have to cook it and scrape out the seeds to use to make milk.
Just cut out the stem of the squash to make a hollow. Put a little butter or some expeller pressed oil in there and some salt. Bake until squash is very tender inside. Scrape out seeds. Put seeds in blender with 1 quart of water. Sweeten with a little honey or a piece of dried papaya. Blend thoroughly. Strain through cheesecloth or a large metal strainer. Add enough water to make at least a quart of milk. Even though you added a quart of water, this will not yield a quart of milk after it is whipped and strained. Will keep about 4 days in the refrigerator.
We thank the Lord for our uncle who has come and fixed up a few things for us, including my bathroom faucet.
The Lord also helped in getting our parents' website updated sooner this time. You can read their blog at http://owenaopportunity.weebly.com/youngs-blog.html
Christy was able to go apply for a job today and was asked to come back for an interview tomorrow afternoon. We pray that this will work out well.
Also had a chance yesterday morning to do a little more weeding. Christy did quite a bit yesterday evening, in spite of a bad headache.
Started yesterday on a project "recycling" another outfit One of my jumpers has gotten worn out. I have a short sleeve "jacket" (not sure what you call it) that I don't wear. This can be added to a piece of material that matches the jumper. Then the "jacket" and added piece of material will be sewn to the skirt part of the jumper. I'm praying the Lord will help me figure out how to do it. Christy picked up some dark green thread for the project while she was out to town this morning.
Well, had better get going for now. It is lunch time. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day.
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Psalm 31:19
