There were no deaths in the battle. The bigger spider just gave up and decided to find another place for a web. But the smaller spider's victory was short lived. Another spider came and took over her web later, and she was killed. That's the way life goes for spiders, I guess.
Well, it has been a few days, but here is the follow-up. Guess who won? There were no deaths in the battle. The bigger spider just gave up and decided to find another place for a web. But the smaller spider's victory was short lived. Another spider came and took over her web later, and she was killed. That's the way life goes for spiders, I guess.

I found these two spiders fighting over a web? Who do you think will win -- the big one or the small one? I haven't seen the outcome yet, but in the battles I've watched in the past, it is usually the smaller one that wins. I guess bigger isn't always better.
The battle is not only about strength and speed but is also a lot about wits. The spiders will take hours, or even a couple of days to complete their fight over their web. Since it does not take long for a spider to build a web, I always wonder why the spider doesn't just leave and find a new place to build her web and let the newcomer have the old one. She will not, however, and will fight to the death for her web. These spiders remind me of Song of Solomon 9:11, which says in part, "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong." |
Sour Sammy
Sour Sammy could not be good, no matter how he tried. One day his father had to discipline him for doing wrong, He asked his father why he could not be good, so his father got down the Bible and showed Sour Sammy how only Jesus could make him good. "Soon it was known all over town That Sour Sam had lost his frown -- Jesus had turned it upside down." Mom's e-book for children can be purchased by clicking on the "Buy Now" button below.
