This is a very encouraging testimony. No matter what your life has been like or what is in your past, God can still use you. I pray it will be a blessing to you.
Another fun thing we did on Saturday was to go to the fireworks in Kings Mountain. We do that every year, and it is a lot of fun. I took a lot of pictures of that so will do a photo gallery for it. One of the pictures (almost at the end) is really bright. You can see the people in the foreground and the American flag to the left beside the fireworks. I learned later that there were not supposed to be that many fireworks going off at once at that time. It was an accident, and that is why there wasn't much of a grand finale. Ooops! Well, at least no one was hurt, and it made for a neat picture. I really liked the sparkly fireworks. They kind of looked like giant sparklers. Anyway, here are the pictures. Hope you enjoy!
On Saturday we enjoyed going to see the Independence Day parade in our local town. We look forward to it every year. Here are a few pictures.
Happy Birthday, America!
My prayers are with you.
The title to the video says ""Full Version," but they left out one verse.
The verse that was left out goes like this:
"And where is that band, who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should eave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution;
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave;
And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave."
Sour Sammy could not be good, no matter how he tried. One day his father had to discipline him for doing wrong, He asked his father why he could not be good, so his father got down the Bible and showed Sour Sammy how only Jesus could make him good.
"Soon it was known all over town
That Sour Sam had lost his frown --
Jesus had turned it upside down."
