This week the Lord blessed with some good things.
Earlier this week a little, yellow bird began to come each morning and knock on my window. Not sure if she saw a reflection or was after the drawstring for the blinds or what. She has a nice song and such pretty colors. Here are a couple of pictures of her.
Our county is having a walking contest over the next 6 weeks. Christy and I and the other HOPE ladies joined this contest. Today there was a "fun walk" at the Shelby City Park. Christy and I went to that as did one of the ladies from HOPE and her two children. First there was a drawing that we entered, and Christy won 4 free passes to the golf course. :-)
Then we headed off on the 2 mile walk. It was through parts of downtown, and there are many beautiful houses in that area with nicely landscaped yards. We enjoyed seeing those pretty houses and watching the birds play and eat in the yards. The flowers are in bloom, and the wonderful aroma tickled our noses and made the walk even more pleasant. I was a little disappointed that we made it back last of everyone, but we did have fun.
Another blessing that came this week was some of my new supplements. The one for the heart seems to really be helping. It, along with the new immune support supplements, appear to be helping with the fatigue I have been experiencing.
Also, a book we ordered arrived. It was 2 days late, but it did get here. Maybe there was a little delay in the shipping because of the Easter holiday. This book describes some special exercise that can be done to help heal sore joints and restore muscle tone.
I don't agree with all of the author's philosophy as some of it doesn't seem to make sense medically. Also, some of it is based on the theory of evolution so is not right Biblically. But the book does contain some helpful exercises. This book is called Pain Free and is written by Pete Egoscue.
God also blessed with a good report at the chiropractor during my re-evaluation. Below are the pictures from the scan that showed the pinched nerves in my neck. The first picture is from October 2010. The second is from April 2011.
The black bars indicate severely pinched nerves. The red bars indicate moderate to severely pinched nerves. The blue bars show moderately pinched nerves. Green bars show mildly pinched nerves. And white bars show that the nerve is not being pinched.
Wow! This shows some major improvement in the neck. Thank You, Lord. There is a slight worsening of the pinched nerves in the low back, but the chiropractor feels this is due to the fact that I have active inflammation in my back right now.
So, we are excited about the improvement here. We were a little disappointed that the improvement was not sufficient to allow me to cut down to one appointment a week. I still have to go twice a week for the next month. But we are excited about what the Lord has done here.
Christy finished up her schooling and really enjoyed her time. The lady that taught the second part of the class helped her make up a resume and allowed her to post it online. Thank the Lord for that blessing as well. We continue to pray for the Lord to provide her a job in His time.
18Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. 21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
