Quietly Wait
Retrospect - A looking back on things past; view or contemplation of the past.
~Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language – 1913 edition
For me 2013 has been a difficult year. There were battles physically, emotionally, spiritually and even struggles financially. It was a year of learning to rest and wait. A couple of key lessons God taught me through the year 2013 are that He is always with me, and, it is only because of His mercy that I am alive.
“22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:22-26)
Preparing the Heart
Prospect – the act of looking forward; foresight; anticipation; as a prospect of the future state. That which is hoped for; ground for hope or expectation; probable result; as, the prospect of success.
~Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language – 1913 edition
Throughout 2013, the Lord showed me His presence, His patience, His compassion, and His love. He also showed me that He is in charge of all things. It was a year to rest and to learn what God is like. For 2014, I pray that God will take the things He has taught me and use them to change my heart. I pray that I will learn to love Jesus more, to fear God rather than man, to love the praise of God more than the praise of men, and to love others as myself.
“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Galatians 5:14)
The Lord has provided me with resources for both spiritual and physical health. Many of these resources and ideas have been put together in a notebook. The notebook will be used for tracking goals and progress, both spiritually and physically. As I prepare this notebook, I pray that God will prepare my heart for all that He has to teach me in the coming year. I will try to regularly share, perhaps once a week or so, what the Lord has been doing in my heart and how He has also been working in my body.
“Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” (Psalm 86:11)
Unite – to become one; to join; to unite (Strongs)
Unite – to become one; to be cemented or consolidated; to join in an act; to concur; to act in concert (Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language – 1913 edition)
I pray that God will join my heart in the act of fearing His name so that I will walk in His truth as He teaches me His way.
Below is a short video (about 5 minutes) giving a little look at my health notebook.
(I’m sorry about the poor quality of the recording. It is my first attempt to do a video like this.)
Some of the lists and charts I used in my notebook were my own creation. Others you may have noticed said “Listplanit” on the top. These came from the site listplanit.com. I think the planner book I used for these charts is the Personal ePlanner.
Some of the resources and ideas for the “Renewing the Mind” part of my health notebook came from the book Energy Explosion, by Arabah Joy.
