Last night as I observed some things, my heart was afraid. BBN was playing. As I talked to the Lord about some things, a song was playing on BBN – “The Lord is my light and my salvation, Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom then shall I be afraid? Throughout the night various songs came on that were comforting and strengthening reminders that God’s power is greater than Satan’s.
Pray for the power of Satan to be broken and his strongholds broken down in this particular situation. Here are some verses to read through as you pray. They will give some ideas of how to pray.
“For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.” (Luke 9:56)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” (Psalm 27:1-3)
“And he said unto them, "This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29)
“For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.” (Acts 18:10)
“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” (Psalm 34:7)
“1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” (Psalm 91:1,2)
“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” (Psalm 36:7)
“Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. 2I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. 3He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.” (Psalm 57:1-3)
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (I John 4:4)
This Is My Father's World
1. This is my Father's world.
And to my list'ning ears,
All nature sings, and round me rings,
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world,
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass, I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.
2. This is my Father's world,
The birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white
Declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world,
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass, I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.
3. This is my Father's world,
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father's world,
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heav'n be one.
