Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day! It is my favorite holiday of the year. It is an official American holiday, but, in reality, it is a special day of feasting and joy and gladness for Christians. God has saved us, God has given us joy, God has given us blessings, God has given us eternal life. We are all part of God's family, and it is so wonderful to get together and encourage one another and enjoy fellow-shipping with one another.
Last night, after a long and busy day, we had the opportunity to go spend some time at my Aunt and Uncle's house. Cousins and family were there and U. Tim and A. Ruth from out of state.
We enjoyed good food and then just had some time to sit around and talk with each other. After a while, my cousin wanted to play a game with us; so his daughter picked out Pictionary.
The younger of the two girls, Kennedy, was really good at the game. Not only was she a good drawer, but she was a good guesser. One of my words was "headache." I drew a stick figure and then started drawing lines coming out of the head. I was only about halfway through drawing my first star, when she said, "Headache!" It ended up being a very animated game.
It was after 10:00 when we left, but our spirits were refreshed. Thank You, God, for a good evening.
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
