Around 1:00, I decided it was time for lunch. Got the zucchini and baked eggs out and put them in a bowl in the microwave, thinking "Well, there are no tomatoes, so I shouldn't need to cover this." I was, after all, just warming it up. I set it on 1 minute, and all went well until about 5 seconds before the minute was up. Pow! Oh, no. I looked in the microwave. Sure enough, the egg had exploded. In fact, it was worse than I thought it would be. Since the egg was partially under the grated zucchini, it shot zucchini and egg all over the inside of the microwave, especially on the top and back of it. So, during BBN's family altar time, I cleaned microwave while listening to the program. Was able to get most of it off. Maybe Christy will be able to get the rest off with the dish water next time she washes dishes.
About 2:15 Christy came home. She brought with her a puzzle that someone at her work had loaned to her. It is kind of pretty - a yellowish house on a hill, in front of which is a red mail buggy pulled by a white horse. On the hillside is a beautiful garden with flowers and flowering trees. Down in the garden is a girl sitting on a chair and opening a present. She is all dressed up and is pulling the ribbon on her present. Around the girl's feet are squirrels and bunny rabbits watching her open the present. It is a very peaceful, restful scene.
Around 3:30, Christy started her final exam in one of her courses. It was a three hour, open book exam. She finished in about 2 hours and 52 minutes and got a 93. She wanted a 100, but 93 was good too.
In the afternoon, I made the other two crocheted "peppermint candies" to go on a friend's crocheted bag and then sewed them on. Then I made a flower to put on a barrette for her. The flower came out really pretty and was very easy to make, but I couldn't find the barrette. Oh, well. Will have to pick another one up, I guess. The flower was so fun and easy to make, that I decided to make another one. The second one was made from red and white yarn. I used red for the center and white for the petals.
After Christy finished her exam, we ate supper. It was meat with stewed tomatoes. Christy had bread and butter with hers, and I had baked mushrooms with mine. Mmmmmm! It was a very good meal.
Well, here is a video showing how to make the flower with the unique but pretty petals. It is in Spanish, and you will have to know at least a little bit of Spanish to follow the video. There are captions, but I think they are in Portuguese. Hope you enjoy :-).
