Set Your Love Upon God, part 1.
The Change Journey verse for this week is Psalm 91:14, “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.” The theme I’ll be considering for a while is Set Your Affection on Things Above.
“Set his love” – delight in, desire, long for (Strong’s Concordance)
The reason I am taking a whole week for this verse is that, once I began to dig into it, I found that it was very deep. Here are some thoughts on this verse.
God is Almighty. He is great. He is the most High. Yet, He is not beyond my reach. I can delight in Him. I can desire Him. I can long for Him. If I seek Him, He will be found of me. (See Jeremiah 29:13) God is not trying to run away from me but is waiting with stretched out arms for me to return His love.
O, God, help me set my love on you. You love me and You ought to be all my desire.
