Christy threw a load of wash in the washer and then in the dryer. Then we headed off to do some shopping. Went to GNC, Mighty Dollar, and Wal-Mart. Then it was off to the chiropractor where we had a profitable visit.
Next we went to Walgreens to do our weekly shopping. Money-maker this week - 57 cents (because of coupons and Register Rewards). There was another money-maker too, but it was already gone. We also got some pictures from our photo book exchanged as the originals which we had done on Saturday did not come out right.
It was humid but not too hot in the evening. Since it was not raining, we decided to work out in the yard. We could see and hear thunderstorms to the east of us and to the south of us, but they all went around. The one to the south of us was quite a storm with lots of lightning. Got quite a bit done in weeding the flower garden area (which is kind of a "weed garden" right now. :-) ).
In the evening, we were sitting and playing boggle together when I noticed that the sky was all aglow. Brilliant yellow illumined the hues of blue and gray and white and off-white among the clouds. Quickly I grabbed my camera and headed for the porch to get some photos. For some reason, the yellow showed up orange in the photos; but they are still pretty. Below are a few of these photos. Hope you enjoy!
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork. Psalm 19:1
Today is a busy day. Got up at 7:03 and began my "resistance training exercises" right away. While I did these, I played the Bible on CD.
After that I made my morning drink that is supposed to help my stomach. Still have not been able to make the peach/lemon drink because there are still very few peaches around. The cheapest we've seen so far is 75 cents a peach. But even those are hard to find.
The stomach drink consisted of 1 raw potato (thoroughly cleaned with eyes cut out of it), 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen cherries, and 1 raw egg. Because of the possibility of bad bacteria existing on the outside of an egg shell (salmonella), I thoroughly clean the egg before cracking. I wash it first with dish soap and rinse it 'till all the soap is off. Then I clean well with hydrogen peroxide and dry it. I try to vary the proteins I put in the drink. Sometimes it is egg. Sometimes it is nuts or seeds. Sometimes it is yogurt. Yogurt is my favorite. We make our own from raw, whole milk that a friend gets us. A little honey or molasses or maple syrup is added to try to cover up the taste of the potato.
After this I ground up some sesame seeds for homemade tahini.
Christy did a load of laundry and hung it out and is now gone to babysit at a friend's house. While she is gone, I am trying to get some computer work done that can only be done on her computer. Also need to make snacks and a carrot cake and cook the supper and get the rest of the shopping list ready. We bought organic carrots which we usually use for juicing, but they have been so bitter it is hard to drink the juice. Usually they are very sweet, but this time they are stringy, tough, and bitter.
Also, we need to look things over that we want to sell at flea market tomorrow. So life is quite busy around here right now. We thank the Lord for His strength and wisdom.
