To all our dear readers:
Thank you for stopping by. Here are a couple of prayer requests – one for me and an urgent one for my cousin John and his wife Linda.
MRI
My MRI is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 11:00. I have to be there at 10:30. There are a few things I’m nervous about so would appreciate your prayers in that regard. One – the length of time. There are reasons this could be a real problem for me. Two – the sounds. A closed MRI makes a lot more noise than an open MRI. They offer ear plugs, but I have bad ringing in my ears. Using ear plugs really magnifies that. Some places offer metal-free ear phones and music so hopefully that would be an option. Also, I was afraid I might “jump” when each noise starts. I talked to a friend and she didn’t think that would be a problem if I just “jumped” when it first started. Three – I tend to get muscle spasms easily when I lie down, especially in my neck and legs. Anyway, those are the main things I am nervous about, as well as the possibility of allergic reaction to the contrast.
Special Prayer Request
Please pray for my cousin John and his wife, Linda. Linda was diagnosed with cancer several years back, and this cancer has spread to other areas, including her lungs. The chemo she had been taking has not worked, so she was hoping to be included in a clinical trial. During the past several weeks her health has declined from being able to run several miles a day to hardly being able to walk down the hospital hallway.
Along with Linda’s difficulty walking, her oxygen levels at rest and her magnesium levels were too low for her to qualify for the clinical trial. Her doctor is going to try one more type of chemotherapy. This chemo is not generally used for this type of cancer, but he believes it is worth a try. Linda’s family has chosen to request hospice care for Linda.
Today John and Linda celebrate 20 years of marriage. God has given them a love for each other and four beautiful children. Please be in prayer for comfort and encouragement for all of them. Also, please stop by Linda’s site and let her know you are praying for her and the family. That would be a great encouragement to them.
