This about sums up the situation for Dad and Mom. They called last night asking for prayer. Thanks so much for praying. Dad and Mom asked that people read II Chronicles 7:14 and II Chronicles 20 (especially verse 12) as they pray.
At this point, Dad and Mom are under tremendous stress. Their hands are tied as to ministry for the time being. They are unable to do anything but sit and wait. Also at this point, no one in the village is exhibiting more fear of God than man and circumstances except for two people - David and Apekio.
Nobody has brought any materials for the new house, and everyone is afraid to come visit them. I cannot go into details about the situation, but please just be in prayer. Dad and Mom said that right now they have no human help. They can only wait upon the Lord. However, they still go to David’s house for church meetings. And even more people have been coming to David to ask questions. Dad and Mom are praying that the Lord will use this to reach people’s hearts in this situation.
Besides these difficulties, there is a problem with the price of fuel. Because of what is going on in the Middle East, fuel prices have gone way up for Papua New Guinea. According to the New Guinea newspaper, Mexico is the second largest exporter of oil outside the Middle East. However, their wells are not producing as much as they used to. And the offshore well is no longer in use. Prices of fuel have gone up so high that some of the public transportation is no longer able to run. It is expected that food prices (which are already quite high) will rise considerably. So please be in prayer in this regard as well. Thanks.
Well, that is about it for this report. It is a stressful time, but Dad and Mom are leaning on the Lord. They have asked that others be in urgent prayer.
In Christ,
Christy and Connie Young
