Hello! How is everyone on this fine, fall day? It is hard to believe that Friday was the first day of autumn. Seems like spring just started!
It has been a little while since I updated, and lots of exciting things have happened. Here is a look into our last days of summer.
During the first three weeks after my foot was hurt, I did not go outside as much as usual. However, the Lord brought some nice little things to me.
1. A little blue and black butterfly
We had to take the screen off our living room window one day. While it was still off, a little blue and black butterfly decided that she would check out life on the inside of the window. Isn't she pretty?
2. A something or other kind of bug on the window of the front screen door.
3. Another butterfly with pretty brown "eyes" on its wings. This one was on the window of the back door.
4. Beautiful morning glories growing right on our front porch.
Since Christy eats free at work, and the diet is a fairly well balanced diet, I don't need to cook for her most of the time. However, some days there is food on the menu that she cannot eat. When that is the case I make her a main dish. One of the dishes I made this past week was a "happy chicken pot pie." That was fun!
Throughout the summer the weather was often very hot. It was also very dry. Last week the Lord sent some rain, wonderful rain. All in all, the total for our area was 7.8 inches! Even though it was so much, the ground just soaked most of it right up. There were hardly any large puddles that lasted for more than an hour or two after the rain.
Last week our church had missions conference. On the first night of the special meetings, some of the children either dressed up or made posters to represent the needs of different places around the world or missionaries to different places around the world. After they came to the front with their costumes and/or posters, they all sang a song called "I Am a Missionary."
One day last week I discovered some unique bugs on my bedroom window. They were kind of pretty, but I hope they are not hungry for garden plants. They look like they have good mouths for chewing!
This little lady thought the bugs looked tasty. Only one problem. My window was closed; and she was on the inside of the glass, and they were on the outside of the glass. Most of them were also on the outside of the screen. Poor little lady!
Yesterday Christy's roses were blooming. The flowers last only one day after they open, but they are very pretty and smell so sweet.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look into our last days of summer. Have a wonderful, happy day!
"I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD." (Psalm 104:33,34)
